Friends of Dave #218: men carrying handbags
A few items for you this week....
Quick note: I received reports that a number of people did not get last week's issue delivered to them -- it is possible that the previous one, with it's subject line and inclusion of a significant number of loosely veiled curse words may have tripped some spam filters. If you did not get either, please check your SPAM or go to the profile page online for what you missed -- apologies!
Past week was a short week for most and a busy one here. Since I have been on a tear with the preambles lately, I'm going to take a bit of a breather here.
Couple items for you:
-- If you have Disney+, the old Muppet Show is now available. Dated in some parts, timeless in others. The humor and guests will take you back if you grew up during that era. Worth checking out. And don't even THINK of pressing that "Skip Intro" button....
-- On HBO Max, recommend Judas and Black Messiah. Has a "Departed" feel and based on true story about the FBI infiltrating the Black Panthers in Chicago.
-- Couple newsletter alerts: good to see Friends of Dave Brian McMahon, Tim Adler and Sean Carney have all recently launched their own publications. I think you may need to link to Brian and Tim on LinkedIn to get in the queue to see their stuff. Sean is using the same newsletter platform as the FoD (one of his article finds is included below). All great.
-- Along those lines, I've been seeing FoD Erica Seidel recently posting again and I continue to be a fanboy of FoD Eli London's newsletter, The Breads.
-- This week alone I found myself recalling or invoking ideas expressed in this, this, this, this, this and this long ago preamble. If you like the intros here, especially if you are new, click on a few if not all of those. I think you will find the trip in the wayback machine worthwhile.
-- Might be getting back to podcasting...stay tuned..but >> CLICK HERE<< in the meantime to check out some of the past FoD podcasts.
-- Lastly, my wife and I recently watched Lethal Weapon 1 AND 2 again after many years.....the original is much darker than I remember, and I have to say is DEFINITELY more of a Christmas movie than Die Hard.....don't hate me.....
I read somewhere that Danny Glover was younger than my current age in the first Lethal Weapon....I am getting too old for this s***.
Daylight savings is in 3 weeks for most of us...Have a great weekend everyone.
XOXO
Dave

Innovation is About Mindset. Don’t Limit Innovation to Be Just About Product or Tech.
When it’s allowed to become a mindset, innovation becomes sustainable. It evolves how people think, which in turn shapes how their organizations evolve.
An innovative, entrepreneurial mindset is always curious and seeking what is new. And it is what changes the trajectory of organizations and drives growth. Great find by FoD Sean Carney.
