Friends of Dave #258: get back
Taking Some Time to Recharge
Friends, keeping with the spirit of the week -- I am thankful to have some time to recharge and reconnect with my children and family this week. Much gratitude to have everyone happy, healthy and together over this Thanksgiving holiday.
As a result, taking a breather from the preamble this week. Don't worry, I am making up for it with some good reads in the links below.
BONUS: I will leave you with two recommendations for FoDs with Disney+:
Catch the three part Peter Jackson documentary about the Beatles' called "Get Back." Completely fascinating, riveting, raw look at the end of the Beatles as they attempt to write an entire album (14 new songs) and film a live show in under 20 days at the beginning of January 1969. It's long (might be a bit of a hard days night to binge in one sitting), but if you love music, you will appreciate every minute. To see the literal birth of some of their most iconic songs from the first notes strummed on a guitar to finish makes it all worth it.
Pleasantly surprised at how legit good "Cruella," the live action origin story of the villainess from the animated 101 Dalmatians fame was. Had a dark "Joker" like vibe that I was not expecting and both the performances and the soundtrack are well done. If you enjoy these types of movies, worth catching this before the inevitable sequel comes out.
If you have any other good streaming finds that FoDs might enjoy, please shoot me an email with them and I will pass them along. With the winter months coming up, always good to have something in your queue for one of those messy weather days.
By the way, getting some good traction and feedback on LinkedIn with the publishing of past editions of "Friends of Dave" newsletter there -- check it out, subscribe and share if you can.
Safe travels to all of you and your loved ones. Thank you once again for tuning in here each week. Hard to believe 2021 is coming down the home stretch!
XOXO
Dave
